How Did The Hearts Get There?
These cupcakes are not just for Valentine’s day. You can bake these special cupcakes for your loved one on their birthday or your anniversary. If you are ever in London during the Valentine holiday visit Crumbs & Doilies bakery for these baked-in hearts.
It is just so simple to make for any special occasion to let someone know that you think about them dearly.
You just bake one red whole cake and use a heart shape cutter to cut them out. You would think the heart would burn with the baking of the cupcakes…..but it doesn’t. Go figure!

Pink Heart Ingredients
200g (7 ounces) soft unsalted butter (1 cup = 227 grams = 2 US sticks = 8 ounces)
125g (1/2 cup aprox.) caster sugar (1 cup = 220 grams)
2 lag free range eggs
125g (5/6 cup) self raising flour
1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1.5 tbs whole milk
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Caster sugar is a very fine sugar (granulated sugar ground super-fine). If you can’t find it, then just grind granulated sugar. All you have to do is place granulated sugar in a food processor or blender. Blend it till the granulated sugar is super-fine but not to a powder.
Let the sugar settle a few minutes. You can substitute this sugar for caster sugar. If blender made of plastic, sugar could etch the pitcher/container. Could use a spice or coffee grinder instead.
Use your favorite vanilla buttercream icing and sugar heart decorations.
