Delicious Birthday Cake Popcorn recipe tastes like cake before it is baked. Only 4 ingredients to having a easy, fun treat.
One individual followed the directions and found it to be too thick and sticky; however, it was just too delicious. So the second batch, she spread the popped popcorn on a large sheet cake pan, sprinkled the cake mix over it and then poured the melted chocolate. Mixed the popcorn mixture by hand then added sprinkles after mixed & tossed again. Turned out much better and was a bit hit!
Change the colors of the sprinkles for holidays, sporting events, and birthdays. Salt the popcorn a little before adding other ingredients & you will have a sweet & salty treat.

Birthday Cake Popcorn Recipe
- 6 cups popped popcorn
- 12 oz. package of white chocolate chips
- ¼ to ½ cup white cake mix
After popping the popcorn, remove any extra kernals and place popcorn in a large bowl.
Melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler or in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave. If melting in the microwave, heat it for one minute and stir. Continue heating at 20 second intervals to avoid burning the chocolate.
Once the chocolate is melted, add the dry cake mix to it and stir. Pour over the popcorn and stir to coat.
Place popcorn on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper or silicone baking mat. Sprinkle with sprinkles and let set.
Break apart and store in an airtight container.
